SUPERLATIVE AWARDS 2011/2012 SEASON
Attached is the form to be used in submitting your candidates for the high state awards. We believe you will find the form simple and easy to complete. Please make sure all blanks are completed and legible before submitting.
High Series and High Game will be from any certified league or certified tournament bowled in South Carolina. To be eligible Bantam, Prep, Junior and Major/Senior bowlers must have bowled at least two-thirds (2/3) of the scheduled league games as of March 1, 2012 (the cut-off date) and scores must be SCRATCH SCORES. For high series or game bowled in a tournament to qualify, the bowler must have bowled at least two-thirds (2/3) of the scheduled league games in a certified winter league in South Carolina as of March 1, 2012. Please note: Bantam, Prep, Junior and Major/Senior High Series scores will be three-game scores. Please indicate on the attached nomination form the date high series and high games were bowled.
Any scores rolled from March 2, 2011 through March 1, 2012, in certified winter or summer league and tournament play will qualify for consideration in High Series and/or High Game; however, keep in mind, the bowler must have bowled the minimum number of games as stated above.
High Average will be from WINTER league play only. This particular award will be for the 2010/2011 or 2011/2012 WINTER season with a bowler bowling at least two-thirds (2/3) of the scheduled games in that league by March 1, 2012, minimum of 21 games. You would submit the nominee who has the highest average on March 1, 2012 (or last day of bowling before March 1, 2012), whether or not the league has concluded on March 1, 2012. This is not the person having the highest average during the season but the person with the highest average as of March 1, 2012. If a recipient won the High Average superlative award in a specific 2010/2011 league, he can not win it again in that league for the same league session. However, if the bowler did not win and the league finished the 2010/2011 season after March 1, 2011, then the bowler may be re-submitted with his ending average. Please indicate on the attached nomination form the date used for high average. If a tie for High Average occurs, the average will be carried to the 1,000th place to break the tie. Thus it is important that information on total number of pins and total number of games be included in every case.
Awards will be presented to the recipients at the time they bowl in the State Tournament so that their peers may witness the presentation.
The awards are presented to both male and female bowlers in each of the Bantam (8 years and under), Prep (9-11), Junior (12-14) and Major/Senior (15-19) Divisions.
Cut-off date for receiving this information is March 10, 2012. No late submissions will be accepted.
