The 2nd Annual South Carolina USBC Association Senior State Match Game Tournament was held on Saturday & Sunday, February 21st & 22nd, 2009, at Royal Z Lanes in Goose Creek, South Carolina. Twenty of South Carolina’s finest Senior Classic bowlers traveled down to Charleston to try and become the State Senior Match Game Champion. After (8) games of qualifying on Saturday, Jeff Bellinger from Columbia, was the top qualifier with a score of 1,928, which averages out to a 241 average for eight games. On Sunday, the top eight qualifiers came back for (8) more games of match play against each other, and Jeff bowled even better in direct head to head competition. He averaged 247 for his eight games of match play and was crowned the South Carolina Senior Match Game Champion for the second consecutive year. Jeff, pictured below, received a first place check for $ 450.00 and a championship plaque from the South Carolina USBC Association.

During qualifying on Saturday, Dave Malikowski (Charleston) shot a 300 game in game # 8, John Stewart (Anderson) shot a 300 game in game # 3, and Jim McGee (Anderson) shot a 290 game in game # 8. To make match play on Sunday, the average was 201.
